Fashion Influence: ’60s Mod Style
Fashion’s influence on interiors has brought mod ’60s retro looks to the forefront of design again.
For anyone who watched Sunday’s Season 5 premiere of Mad Men, just think back to the clothing and interiors for an idea of the look. Bold, vibrant colors and geometric shapes are the name of the game.
The mod look came back in fashion last fall and will continue into spring. The Fashion Photography Blog found great examples in Marc Jacobs’ spring collection.
And Banana Republic has made ’60s style especially accessible with its Mad Men® Collection.
The look can be seen in interiors as well. This current room still has a mod feel with its ’60s-esque color blocking.
This dining space is also brings ’60s style to mind.
There’s no shortage of furnishings sporting a mod look these days. Elle Decor’s recent Trend Alert on Graphic Patterns has a number of options, including this throw from Jonathan Adler.
I also came across this Chest of Drawers from Chelsea Textiles…
…and these Pumpkin Armchairs from Ligne Roset.
What do you think of the return of 1960s fashion and its influence on home décor?
