Raised in and around her father’s luxury beachside construction sites, Anne Calder grew up literally surrounded by fantastic design and craftsmanship. This exposure made an impact; Anne went on to earn her bachelor’s degree at Wesleyan University, where she majored in American Studies with a concentration on Architecture and Urbanism. Originally from New York, Anne’s love of architecture and fantastic food drew her down to New Orleans, where she studied at Delgado Community College and earned an associate’s degree in Interior Design. It was while in school at Delgado that Anne first joined Susan Currie Design. She quickly became a fixture on the team. When she decided to move home to New York in 2018, we were sorry to see her go. But a few months later, it became clear that Anne and SCD were happier together than apart. Today, Anne is back with Susan Currie Design — working primarily from Brooklyn on residential projects in both New York and New Orleans! When she is not wrapped up in a design project, Anne enjoys reading, gardening, cooking and is learning the ins and outs of both fiber arts and tennis. Anne’s sweet nature, inspired ideas and attention to detail are all valued characteristics here at Susan Currie Design!
