ATLANTA

Having an office in the middle of the Southeast’s premier design center is about as easy as it gets! At ADAC, we are able to literally walk out of our studio door and source everything from fabric and wallcoverings to bespoke furniture, antiques, lighting, rugs, art and accessories.

NEW ORLEANS

In New Orleans, we are surrounded by the city’s rich history and can draw inspiration from the architecture for our projects. Both locations complement each other and we are very excited to create more beautiful interiors from our Atlanta and New Orleans offices.

SUSAN CURRIE,
ALLIED ASID, CAPS

PRINCIPAL INTERIOR DESIGNER

Growing up in Mississippi, Susan’s earliest recollections were of visiting the many fine homes of relatives and family friends. These experiences shaped her deep appreciation for the past and her understanding of how gracious environments make people feel. While Susan’s approach to design remains heavily influenced by historic precedents, her interiors are never bound by tradition.

Susan is drawn to color and texture, using them in concert to craft spaces that are fresh and inviting. She has an eye for detail and an ability to unite many elements within a room, creating subtle harmony and balance throughout. Finally, Susan believes that people must not only live beautifully, but also live well in their homes, so comforts and conveniences underpin every project from the outset.

In 2008, Susan first opened the doors to Susan Currie Design in New Orleans. In addition to a satellite office in Brooklyn, New York, Susan recently opened a full-service office in Atlanta, located at ADAC. Today, she and her two canine cohorts split their time between New Orleans and Atlanta, citing the architecture, people, and culture of each city as major sources of continued inspiration.

ASID DESIGN EXCELLENCE AWARD WINNER

CERTIFIED AGING-IN-PLACE SPECIALIST

Some of the most cherished moments of my childhood took place in my grandmother’s kitchen—baking, talking, learning, and loving. I reflect on this sentiment at the start of every new project. A designer’s job is to make spaces look and function as best as possible for their clients, but I take it one step further. I create special settings where a lifetime of memories can be made.” ~ Susan Currie

ANN CALDER,
ALLIED ASID

INTERIOR DESIGNER

Raised around her father’s luxury beachside construction sites, Anne Calder developed a keen eye early on for quality design and craftsmanship. When it came time to pick her own vocation, she made the very natural decision to deepen her understanding of the built environment, earning her bachelor’s degree at Wesleyan University in American Studies with a concentration on Architecture and Urbanism. Anne’s love of architecture (and food) drew from her from her native New York down to New Orleans, where she earned an Associate of Arts in Interior Design at Delgado Community College. While in school, she joined Susan Currie Design and quickly became an invaluable member of the team. In 2018, Anne moved back in New York and today manages projects up and down the East Coast from her home in Brooklyn. She seeks inspiration in reading, gardening, cooking, fiber arts, and heading outside to play a little tennis.

OLIVIA GOLDEN

ASSISTANT INTERIOR DESIGNER

Olivia grew up in an intricately styled home filled with fascinating treasures. Women in her family are naturally gifted decorators  ̶  regularly decorating and redecorating, and always involving Olivia in the process.

Before moving to Atlanta, Olivia lived in several southern cities, including Memphis, Chattanooga, and Mandeville, LA. These historic towns heavily influenced her eye for design and encouraged her deep appreciation for preservation. Today, she identifies as a ‘Grand Millennial’ with a mid-century modern flair. After receiving her interior design degree from Georgia State University, Olivia joined Susan Currie Design in 2021 as an assistant designer.

When it comes to design and color palettes, Olivia pulls inspiration from her travels and from nature. When she’s not working, she tends to the “embarrassing number of houseplants” that she acquired during quarantine  ̶  all of which are thriving in her care!
