Allied Member ASID, CAPS
|My life-long interest in interiors led me to a successful career in interior design. My most vivid and cherished memories of my Mississippi childhood are the interiors of many fine homes of relatives and friends. Always attentive to details but not bound by rigid decorating traditions; my work combines elements of gracious Southern style with contemporary comforts and conveniences. My interiors reflect my love of color and I strive to create spaces that are fresh and inviting.
In addition to my design work, I am a leader of community and professional organizations. While residing in Atlanta, I served as a director for the Georgia Chapter of the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID), auction chair of the Atlanta Ballet Ball in 2011, and as invitations chair for two consecutive years for the Shutze Awards and on the development committee for the Southeast Chapter of the Institute of Classical Architecture & Art.
I edited INDESIGN magazine and contributed articles to numerous publications including the Atlanta Journal Constitution, Atlanta Home Improvement, and my blog susancurriedesignllc.design-sherpa.com that features inspiring posts about my love of color and interior design. I draw inspiration from art, the garden, and my travels.
I recently returned to New Orleans to live while balancing projects in both New Orleans and Atlanta. I love long walks under the lazy Oak limbs in Audubon Park in the good company of my much-loved Shih Tzu dogs, Paisley and Mika.
I am an Allied Member of ASID and a Certified Aging in Place Specialist (CAPS). I graduated from Eastern New Mexico University in Broadcast Communications and from Delgado Community College in New Orleans with degree in Interior Design.
