Pantone’s Color Trends for Spring 2013
Fall hasn’t even begun and already we are thinking ahead to spring color trends. That is how the design industry works, predicting which colors will dominate in the upcoming year.
Pantone, the global authority on color, has recently released their Fashion Color Report for Spring 2013, in conjunction with Mercedes Benz Fashion Week in New York.
This comprehensive report gives an “overview of designers’ use of color in their upcoming collections.” According to Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute, “This season’s color palette emphasizes this need for balance, while at the same time allowing for individuality, self-expression and excitement.”
These colors can as easily translate into the home’s interiors. We already mentioned that the color blue was voted America’s Favorite Color by House Beautiful, so it isn’t surprising to see two different shades of blue on the Spring 2013 Color Report. Other colors highlighted in House Beautiful’s Color Report, green and purple, find their way into Pantone’s list of top color choices for spring.
It will be interesting to see which of these hot hues rise to the top. Which is your favorite color for springtime?
