Design Trend: Modern Art-Inspired Furnishings
The High Point Market is a biannual trade show for the furnishings industry, attracting thousands of attendees and exhibitors each spring and fall. With a wide array of home products being introduced at the events, it’s no surprise that a number of commonalities are seen, and thus, trends emerge. The Market Style Report for Spring/Summer 2012 came out earlier this week, and I was drawn to a few of the trends in particular.
One of my favorites is a home design trend that’s “on the horizon”—modern art-inspired furniture and accessories. According to the Market Style Report:
“Painterly themes are moving to modern art with pops of color and graphic styles.”
Some of the products spotted in line with this trend include this eye-catching loveseat and chair from Indonesia Rattan, as well as this color-blocked rug from Surya.
What a fun way to add color to interior design! What do you think of this artsy trend?
