Fashion Influence: Groovy ’70s Style

For today’s March fashion post, I’m still looking at retro influences, but this time from the ’70s.

The geometric shapes and bright, bold colors popular during the mod ’60s era continued to be big in the ’70s—and not just with color blocking. Colorful floral patterns were also big, as was the chevron pattern.

And let’s not forget the metallic clothing popular for disco style, which came back around to be big in fashion last spring.

These eye-catching modern rooms give off a ’70s fashion-inspired vibe.

This space by Eileen Kathryn Boyd is full of bright punches of color.

And this glam space has lots of metallic elements.

There are plenty of current décor products that display these ’70s fashion trends as well.

Now that we’ve seen the revival of ’60s and ’70s trends, let’s not forget the ’80s. We recently did a post on how ’80s style is coming back in design, too.
