Fashion Influence: Decorating with Pastels

In line with my posts this March on fashion’s influence on interior design, today I want to look at one of the big spring runway trends this year: pastels.

Spearmint isn’t the only pastel tone that’s being seen in fashion and interiors; soft shades of pink, blue, lavender, yellow and orange are all popular too. Elle Magazine reported on the trend, showing this trio of pastel ensembles:

Harper’s Bazaar and Marie Claire also pointed to pastels for spring.

And the trend certainly isn’t limited to the runway. Muted hues are also found in home design. These rooms showcase pastels in interiors at their best:
