Fashion Influence: Tropical Paradise

For today’s March fashion post, I want to look at another big spring 2012 trend: tropical looks. Much bolder than the pastel tones, island prints aren’t for the faint of heart when it comes to their wardrobe or their home design—but they’ve certainly been seen in both arenas.

New York Magazine found a number of tropical ensembles available this spring, including this dress from Altuzarra:

Harper’s Bazaar also picked up on the trend, showcasing exotic clothing and accessories like this Charlotte Olympia heel.

Tropical themes in home design are a great way to have fun with color!

Look at this bright eating nook with views of the water….

…this white window seat with playful prints…

…and this beachy living room complete with palm leaves.

Want to add a tropical feel to your own home? I’ve also compiled a few fun furnishings to help.
